ABOUT

The toolkit and resource list were created as a component to a Major Research Project within the Master of Education program at Queen's University. The content in the toolkit was informed by a literature review completed on eating disorders in schools and teachers' roles in supporting students affected by eating disorders. Additionally, the resource list was created through a global systematic search of publicly available resources on eating disorders in the school settings.

Toolkit

"Students with Eating Disorders: An Ontario Teacher's Toolkit to Stigma-Free Support" provides Ontario teachers with information on identifying eating disorder behaviours, supporting students affected, preventing eating disorders in the school setting, eating disorder stigma, and additional knowledge and training opportunities. This toolkit makes reference to Ontario curriculum, organizations, and resources; however, the general information on eating disorders in schools is beneficial to teachers and other educators globally.

Resource List

The resource list, "Eating Disorders in Schools: Resources for Teachers and Other Educators" provides an extensive list of global resources on eating disorders in the school setting. Resources can be helpful to teachers and other educators, parents of students affected by eating disorders, students affected by eating disorders, and health professionals working in higher education settings.
